EMCOM Live Chat / WhiteBoard / Instant Messaging

This EMCOM system allows you to use several utilities:
  • Live Chat - The Chat system allows you to chat directly with other EMCOM Personnel in your area, around the country, or directly to the EMCOM Network Control Center personnel (when available to chat).

    You make use the main chat area, or create your own "private" chat area to which to invite others, including the ability to designate a login password that must be used to access the "room".

  • WhiteBoard - From the web page, you may use the WhiteBoard to draw or enter text that is shared with others on-line. If you are in a private chat room, the WhiteBoard is used and seen by only the members allowed into that room.

    The ability to load picture files (i.e. maps) and annotate and save them is not available through the web page applet. To use this feature, you must download and install the Babylon software on your own computer and run it as a "stand-alone" application. (Tied to our servers). This will allow you to designate maps/photos from your own system to be displayed and annotated.

    Participating Emergency Management personnel wishing to utilize this feature should contact the EMCOM NCC directly for instructions on downloading and installing the software.

  • Messaging System - The Messaging system allows you to use the "Instant Messaging" and "Delayed Delivery" features of the system. Instant messaging delivers you message to user's currently on-line, while the Delayed Delivery system will deliver it the next time the designated user comes on line.
